He wrote it as a warning. Too bad it came true. Sitting here watching the news - Fox, CNN, all of them - I can't help but slightly grin that both Orwell and Huxley are laughing at us from the great beyond.

No doubt about Orwell, Gabriel. He definitely wrote about the ravages and after math of Europe of WWII from what he witness occurring around him. Unfortunately, it seems that the powers that be in our current political arena has taken his writing to heart. Another fun moment: I remember talking with a US customs agent a few years back, he asked if I had read the Patriot Act around the time it went into law, I stated that, "No, not entirely, but I have already read the blueprint, a book called 1984." He didn't get it.
